In September 2004, students, faculties, staff and alumni of Polytechnic University of the Philippines made a history to set a new record for Guinness World Record largest human rainbow. The activity also in line with the university's Centennial Celebration with theme "PUP: Kabalikat ng Pamahalaan sa Pag-angat ng Antas ng Kabuhayan ng Mamamayan." The activity was held at Quirino Grandstand with of 30,365 participants of largest human rainbow. PUP, broke the record of 11,750 individuals assembled in Floriana, Malta on November 15, 2003.
Part also of the celebration is to highlight the signing of the Declaration of Peace which will be submitted to the United Nations.
