Pagudpud is a town in Ilocos Norte bounded by Bangui on south, Cordillera Mountain Range in the east and South China Sea in west and north. The town is 72 km from Laoag City if you wish to travel by air from Manila or from outside the country via Laoag International Airport then land travel from Laoag City to Pagudpud. Another option is a land travel from Manila which is 560 km away and and about 12 to 14 hours travel depending on your speed. I remember my first and last visit before with our company outing, our travel almost about 14 hours because of some stopover for snacks and meals. It is best to travel early in the morning around 3AM from Manila so that you will escape from the traffic along the road.
Many tourist who visit the beaches in Pagudpud said that its beauty is next to Boracay. Pagudpud beaches has crystal blue water and pure white sands and no pollution. We have a joke before after arrival in Pagudpud resort, that maybe the town's name was derived from "Pagod"(tired) and "Pudpud"(wear) because we are so tired of very long trip from Manila and our service vehicle has tire wear. But all of those sacrifices in land travel will be forgotten after you stand the beautiful shorelines and swim to the purest and crystal blue water of the beach.
Two popular beach in Pagpudpud are Saud White Beach and Blue Lagoon in Maira-ira Point. It offers wind and wave surfing, snorkeling, fishing, boat riding, beach volleyball or even walking in white fine sand.
